Timekeeper
Objectives
To keep time and score during the match.
Responsibilities
(a) Before each season
Accreditations: Activate and upload your accreditations to EverProof as soon as possible and before you commence as a volunteer in a match role. If you’ve not uploaded your accreditations to EverProof before a match, you can’t be a volunteer in a match role. To understand your required accreditations, click here

Code of conduct: Provide the child safe code of conduct signed by you to your team manager before round 1
(b) Before each match
Introduce yourself to the Goal Umpire and opposition’s Timekeeper
Obtain the scorecard, pen and bell or siren and sounding device (if a home match) from the Team Manager
Place the name and age group of the teams playing at the top of the scorecard
(c) During each match
Keep time and score for each quarter of the match and record it on the scorecard
If Timekeeper for the home team, must sound siren or bell:
– 5 minutes before the start of the match
– 1 minute before the end of the first quarter break
– 3 minutes before the end of the second quarter break
– 1 minute before the end of the third quarter breakMust keep time as follows:

(d) After each match
Reconcile the scorecard with the Goal Umpire’s scorecard and the opposition’s Timekeeper’s scorecard
If there’s no discrepancy, sign the scorecard, the Goal Umpire’s scorecard and opposition’s Timekeeper’s scorecard
If there’s a discrepancy, the Timekeeper’s scorecard is deemed correct
Submit completed scorecard to the Team Manager
Relationships
Goal Umpire: To reconcile scorecards after each quarter
Opposition’s Timekeeper: To reconcile scorecards after the match
Accountabilities
Team Manager: To be rostered on for matches, to obtain the scorecard, pen and bell or siren and timing device (if a home match) and submit the completed scorecard on match day
League by-laws
Must be at least 16 years old or of sufficient age to be competent to perform the task (in the opinion of the Field Umpire)
