Woolworths Cricket Blast
The Woolworths Cricket Blast program commences in October and runs until December before breaking up for the school holidays. The program resumes for three weeks in February the following year after school returns, before concluding for the season.

2024-25 Season dates are Saturday, 12th October to Saturday, 14th December and then Saturday, 1st to Saturday, 15th February.
All activities are held at the Club - Clarke Shields Pavilion, Lindsay Hassett Oval (Oval 11) Aughtie Drive, Albert Park from 9.00am to 10.30am on Saturday mornings. This is right at the Fraser Street tram stop. Foot access is easy - just walk across from Canterbury Road. Parking is very limited near the club. There is a sausage sizzle every week ($3) with fresh fruit and water provided, plus Mega Snakes ($2) and other yummy canteen items available for purchase.
GROUND ACCESS
The Grand Prix infrastructure usually takes shape in the park from January each year. Access from Aughtie Drive will be closed at some stage so the only club access will be on foot via the crossover from the Fraser Street light rail stop.
The 2025 Formula 1 Grand Prix is from Thursday, March 13 to Sunday, March 16.

GIRLS ONLY GROUP this season. We are planning to offer a “Girls Only Group” this season if there is sufficient interest. Please register using the link provided and nominate whether you would like to be in this group.
All sessions are held from 9.00am to 10.30 am on Saturday at and near the Lindsay Hassett Oval (Oval 11), Aughtie Drive, Albert Park - at the Clarke Shields Pavilion. It’s right near the Fraser Street light rail stop.
In addition, we’re offering our young Cricket Blasters the chance to participate in Woolworths Anywhere Cricket. This is a free online program of 6 x 20 minute interactive skills sessions presented by Peter Siddle and Holly Ferling, which you can participate in from the comfort of your own home.
This is the perfect way for young cricketers to start their cricket journey before transitioning into the face-to-face format or brushing up on some of the technicalities, while having a lot of fun!
Junior Blasters
Uniting Australian kids through fun and exciting game based activities, Junior Blasters is all about fast-paced fun, friends and being part of a squad.
AGES 5-7
60-90 MIN sessions
Learn the skills to play cricket through fun game based activities
Recommended for kids aged 5-7 of all skills and abilities
60 minutes of fun each session
Participate in skill development activities and modified games
Make new friends and learn new skills, including catching, throwing and teamwork
All kids get their own Blasters Pack and wear the colours of their favourite Big Bash heroes
Parents join in the fun!
All equipment supplied
Safe and inclusive for kids of all abilities
To ensure the safety of all participants, we use plastic bats and a rubber ball
Activities use softer balls of different sizes, as well as blind cricket balls, so kids can participate and develop at their own pace
We provide an environment focusing on kids abilities, as opposed to their disabilities
Each session includes skills activities and a game of backyard cricket

Master Blasters
An action packed program for Australian kids of all abilities who are ready to play short games of cricket in a fun and social setting
AGES 7-10

Recommended for kids aged 7-10
90 minutes of action each session
At least six weeks of fast-paced cricket games
For kids with basic cricket skills who can bowl with a straight arm over 14 metres
Every kid gets a chance to bat, bowl and field
Wear the colours of your favourite Big Bash heroes in your choice of coloured player cap
Make new friends or organise a group to play together
All equipment supplied, parents join in the fun

The Cricket Blaster program is designed for parents to get involved and spend some quality time with their child learning the skills of cricket.
Parent involvement is a huge determinant of participant enjoyment, skill progression and achievement
The ‘Blast Crew’ has been developed to provide clarity and options for parents and volunteers to get involved
