In past seasons, more than 350 kids and over 40 coaches participated in the Auskick sessions run by South Melbourne Districts, making us one of the largest centres in Victoria.
South Melbourne Districts is again offering kids aged 5 – 12 years old the opportunity to learn and practice their footy skills in a fun and safe environment.
At each session, kids are taught basic footy skills and then get to put their skills into practice with a non-contact game. You don’t need any previous skills or understanding of footy to participate. Coffee, BBQ sausages and egg-and-bacon rolls are available for hungry and thirsty parents and participants at each session.
Groups include mixed kinder, mixed prep, mixed grade 1, and an all girls group. New to 2026 there is also a Super Kick group, this is aimed at 7-12 year olds either those getting ready to transition to junior footy or for someone just wanting a little more out of Auskick.
Come, join in the fun and be a part of the great community spirit!

Volunteers
South Melbourne Districts relies on families to fulfil important volunteer roles, including coaches, assistant coaches, first aid contact and running the BBQ, which raises vital funds to continue to operate Auskick. In registering a participant, it’s encouraged that a parent or guardian will volunteer to fulfil one of those roles. If you’re able to lend a hand in any of these roles and have a current WWCC, please e-mail our Auskick coordinator at auskick@smdsc.com.au, with your name, your preferred role and a scan of your WWCC.
