Expressions of Interest – AFL Womens Participation Leader
The South Melbourne Districts AFC are seeking the services of an energetic person to join its senior committee and lead the clubs program to increase female participation in AFL sports. The program is in it’s infancy at this point with the immediate priority being to gather information within the district.
The Club is committed to providing an environment which encourages participation from all members of the local community and this may lead to the introduction of all girls teams from 2013, this may include the introduction of junior all female teams in conjunction with the Junior Football club.
A key challenge for the club in offering this has been access to change room facilities, something which should be solved with the proposed Pavilion redevelopment expected to start soon and be completed in time for the 2013 winter season.
