Districts Long Lunch 90's Theme
The year was 1996 when our rooms now known as Clarke Shields Pavilion were handed over to us by Parks Victoria as essentially a shell. With the dedicated work of many including Ron Duscher, Peter McKendrick, Mick and Darren McKillop, Barry Elmer, Reg Jones, Brendan Maloney, Ernie Rose and many others, the shell turned to a new home and many a good time was had over the past 16 years.
Under the guidance of Sports Club President, Noel Jones, we have once again secured a project that will extend the rooms to cater for the enormous growth the club has experienced in these years. Building renovations are expected to commence on Tuesday 3rd July which makes our next senior home game our last in the existing facility prior to commencement of the works.
To celebrate this occassion, we are putting on a Long Lunch for our Round 9 Fixture against Bulleen Templestowe. Lunch will start at 12 noon and celebrations will continue through both games, the aftermatch and into the night. Note that per VAFA regulations, the bar will be closed during the senior game however afternoon tea will be served during this time with the bar re-opening at the final siren.
A BBQ will run all day and night and the bar will remain open until stock runs out.
Happy Hour Drinks (1996 prices) from 12noon to 2pm, $3 stubbies and $3 House Wines for members and then again at different times throughout the night.
