Opening Round of Summer Shield Competition
The 2011-12 summer interclub track and field competition started on October 14 at Meadowglen. Ashley Humphrey’s performance in the 800m was clearly the top SMAC performance of the round. In his very first race with the club, Ashley won the fastest heat in a magnificent time of 1.59.5
XCR '11 Winter Racing Season
The interclub cross country and road racing series continued with the second round held at Balnarring racecourse on May 21.
Athletics Victoria Winter 2010 pennant presentations
Athletics Victoria presented the 2010 Winter XCR pennants on Sunday October 24. SMAC won women's division 3 and men's division 6.
Wondwosen is Victorian Marathon champion
SMAC's Wondwosen Geleta finished in fourth place in the Melbourne Marathon on October 10. As first Victorian to finish he becomes the Victorian Marathon Champion. He also broke the club's marathon record.
Shield Competion Round 3
Numbers increased dramatically for SMAC at Aberfeldie on October 23. 15 members included 3 SMDSC Little Athletes and 3 new senior athletes
Shield Competition Round 2
The club had 8 competitors for the second round of the Shield competition on October 16 at Meadowglen. All 8 ran in the same heat of the 3000m, forming a substantial proportion of that field. Some also ran 200m and 800m, and some had a go at the shot put and long jump.
