Hello and welcome back to another exciting year at South Melbourne Districts Auskick
In a generous new initiative to help the Club reach its fundraising target, Directors and Major Sponsors, John Holdsworth and Greg Hocking of Greg Hocking Holdsworth Real Estate in Albert Park, have announced they will donate to the Club 10% of every commission earned on sales of homes of SMDSC families and friends.

Footy is back for 2013 with a huge 16 week Auskick program. Our well-structured program caters for all kids (4yo+), all abilities, and there is the option for the girls to be in the mixed age groups or the dedicated girls group. We are a family focused club that places the emphasis on FUN – that every kid should have fun whilst they learn the basics of footy. And we offer a pathway into junior footy – Sth Melbourne Districts FC have teams from U9’s through to the seniors. The fixture below and under the Fixtures tab lays out the season, with our kick off happening as soon as our oval is handed back by the Grand Prix Corporation (April 20th).
Like years past, each week we will offer great coffee from the Soul Kitchen van, our mouth-watering BBQ offering snags and egg and bacon sandwiches, the ever important footy cards for sale and more than 300 families creating an unmatched community atmosphere that we have become renowned for. The registration fee for 2013 again offers terrific value for money @$80.00 – every participant gets the Auskick bag containing a ball, a pump, cap, and stacks of other goodies, as well as coaching from the expert volunteers and 16 weeks of fun. And to make sure they kids all look the goods, once again in 2013 our friends at Podium Sports have put together a terrific offer for 20% off footy boots and a bonus pair of footy socks. This year we are looking for everyone to register and pay online (an AFL Victoria request) – if you haven’t done so yet, please click here to register your child(ren). To increase the incentive to pay online, the AFL is offering 2 adult and 2 children’s ticket to a future AFL match (value of nearly $50) for those registering and paying online by April 15th. If paying online poses an issue, please send a note to auskick@smdsc.com.au requesting an alternative payment method.
Our program is run by a great team, but we are always looking for more help – an events coordinator, BBQ volunteers, more volunteers coaches, etc. If you are interested in helping, please step forward by first contacting the committee via auskick@smdsc.com.au
This year we will also continue to foster a friendly rivalry with our colleagues at Port Melbourne Auskick by offering opportunities to play against the Port Melbourne kids during half time of a Port Melbourne VFL games. More details will be released through the season.
